The academy connects philosophy, culture and contemporary questions with how we live, make decisions and relate to one another.
At its heart is a community that meets regularly. Here we can work through difficult ideas, reconsider familiar assumptions and connect separate pieces of knowledge. A lasting circle of peers supports this work and helps us find our place in a changing world.
We meet once or twice a week to work with texts, explore contemporary questions and discuss what matters in our lives.
We work closely with philosophy and literature, connecting their ideas with life today.
We explore questions about people, society and technology, comparing perspectives, testing arguments and refining our own positions.
We meet regularly and keep the conversation going between meetings, building a circle of people to think aloud with and return to.
Texts are not an end in themselves for us but the basis of our courses and discussions. We turn to the intellectual heritage of humanity and to how new authors reread it — in philosophy, science and human studies.
Philosophy, literature and science from antiquity to our own day — the ideas from which our understanding of people, society and knowledge has grown. We read them not as monuments but as interlocutors.
PHILOSOPHY · LITERATURE · SCIENCEHow today's thinkers — in philosophy, science and human studies — reread this heritage and respond to questions that did not exist before: about technology, knowledge and the place of human beings in a changing world.
PHILOSOPHY · SCIENCE · HUMAN STUDIESA place to make sense of what is happening, develop your own judgement and stay in dialogue with others.
AI is changing how we work with knowledge and what it means to be human. We explore its possibilities and how thinking, responsibility and relationships are changing. The academy develops alongside this reality.
Connect knowledge across fields, compare explanations and gradually develop your own understanding of the world.
Form your own judgements, listen carefully to objections and change your mind when there is reason to.
Find people to work through difficult ideas with, share experience and support one another along the way.
Register your interest in a future open meeting. We will send an invitation once the topic and date are set.
The topic and date of the open meeting have not been announced yet.For people who want to understand the contemporary world more deeply, think independently and find a setting for meaningful conversation. Curiosity and a willingness to listen matter more than ready-made answers.

We embrace progress and learn to work with it. We explore what technology makes possible for reading, inquiry and conversation, and how to develop our own judgement in a changing intellectual environment.
